The leaderboard is our community’s way of celebrating active, helpful, and engaged members. As you participate—whether by starting discussions, sharing solutions, or supporting others—you earn points that reflect your contributions.
These points determine your position in the leaderboard, giving you a fun and motivating way to track your progress, see how you compare with fellow members, and stay inspired to take part in the Agora. It’s our way of recognizing the people who help make the community thrive.
About the Leaderboard
How Points Are Earned
Users are awarded “cheers” by performing certain actions on the community. Each user cheer score appear on their user card, user profile and can be enabled on the user directory.
What the Leaderboard Measures
Currently, the following events award cheers and influence ranking:
- Daily visits
- Flags accepted
- Likes given
- Likes received
- Posts created
- Posts read
- Solutions accepted
- Time read
- Topics created
- User invites accepted
Types of Leaderboard
You will find the following type of leaderboards:
- All-time board: Long-term contribution recognition.
- Group-specific boards: Group-focused achievements.
- Event-based boards: Seasonal contests or campaigns.
Fair Play and Anti-Abuse Measures
To keep the leaderboard meaningful and ensure that competition remains healthy, the Agora uses several safeguards designed to prevent abuse and promote fair participation. These measures help maintain the integrity of the points system so that rankings genuinely reflect valuable contributions—not shortcuts or manipulative behavior.
Preventing Spam and Low-Quality Posts
- Repeated or low-effort posts (e.g., single-word replies, off-topic comments, or filler messages) are automatically flagged.
- Points may be reduced or removed for posts identified as spam or low quality.
- Moderators may issue warnings or apply temporary restrictions for repeated violations.
Rate Limits and Cooldowns
- Certain point-generating actions (e.g., receiving likes or posting many comments in a short time) may have limits or cooldown periods.
- These ensure organic participation and prevent users from rapidly farming points.
- Undesired behaviors may result in reversed points, rank adjustments, or account sanctions.
Moderator Oversight
- Moderators periodically review leaderboard activity to spot unusual patterns.
- If questionable behavior is detected, moderators can: (i) temporarily freeze a user’s standing; (ii) reset specific actions or contributions; (iii) and in serious cases, suspend accounts.
Automated Quality Checks
- Intelligent filters evaluate content for relevance, helpfulness, and originality.
- Posts that appear plagiarized, repetitive, or off-topic may trigger a review before awarding points.
