This page describes the Trust Level model powered by the Agora and provide a list of key features per level.
Resolvists Tier - Everyone
Trust levels are used in the Agora to recognize and reward members’ activity, reliability, and positive contributions within our community. As users participate — by reading, posting, reacting, and helping others — they gradually earn higher trust levels. Each level unlocks new permissions and responsibilities, such as the ability to flag posts, moderate content, or access exclusive areas of the forum.
The goal is to build a healthy, self-moderating community by empowering active and trustworthy members while protecting the space from spam or misuse.
Summary
This guide provides an overview of:
- Agora Trust Levels and features per level
- User growth journey
The trust level system is a foundational element of our community, designed to balance openness with safety as members engage and grow.
Trust Levels serve two key purposes:
- Protecting the Community
New users are given limited capabilities at first—a form of “sandboxing”—to prevent accidental misuse, spam, or disruptive behavior. This helps them learn the community’s norms, features, and expectations in a safe and gradual way. - Empowering Active Members
As users participate over time—by reading, posting, liking, and engaging respectfully—they earn higher trust levels. These levels unlock additional permissions and tools, such as the ability to flag content, edit posts, or even help moderate. This promotes a sense of shared responsibility and helps keep the community self-sustaining and well-managed.
Trust levels are not just about permissions—they’re a way of recognizing commitment, reliability, and positive contribution. They support a healthy community dynamic by encouraging users to grow into trusted stewards of the space.
Trust Level 0 - Curious Observer
All members begin their journey at Trust Level 0, meaning they’re just getting started and haven’t earned trust in the community yet. These users have just created an account and are still learning how the forum works—its culture, rules, and features.
To keep the space safe and welcoming, new users have limited access to certain actions. It also keeps the interface clean and simple, hiding advanced functions until they’re needed.
As new users explore, read, and begin participating in discussions, they’ll naturally earn trust and unlock new abilities over time.
Users at trust level 0 cannot …
- Send personal messages to other users
- Flag posts
- Post any attachments
- Post more than 2 hyperlinks in a post
- Post more than 3 topics
- Post more than 10 replies
- Edit their own posts after more than 24 hours
Trust Level 1 - Fresh Explorer (Basic)
Trust Level 1 is granted to users who’ve taken the first real step into the community: they’ve spent time reading. Reading is the foundation of healthy engagement—it shows a willingness to listen, learn, and understand how the Agora works before jumping in.
By simply browsing topics, opening posts, and getting a feel for the conversations, new users quickly earn this first level of trust.

Trust Level 2 - Active Contributor (Member)
Trust Level 2 is for members who have shown ongoing, consistent participation. These users have become a regular presence in the community.
They have not only read content, but also contributed thoughtfully over time. Their steady engagement—through reading, replying, reacting, and returning regularly—demonstrates that they understand the community’s values and can be trusted with more responsibility.

Trust Level 3 - Trusted Counselor (Regular)
Trust Level 3 is reserved for the community’s most dedicated and consistent members—the ones who keep showing up, contribute reliably, and help set the tone for others. These users are the backbone of the forum, often present for months (or even years), and their ongoing presence builds trust and stability within the space.
Because Regulars are so familiar with how the community works, they’re entrusted with greater responsibilities to help maintain, organize, and guide discussions.

All of the above criteria must be true to achieve trust level 3. Furthermore, unlike other trust levels, you can lose trust level 3 status. If you dip below these requirements in the last 100 days, you will be demoted back to Member. However, in order to avoid constant promotion/demotion situations, there is a 2-week grace period immediately after gaining Trust Level 3 during which you will not be demoted.
Users at trust level 3 can…

Trust Level 4 is the highest level of trust a Resolvists member can earn on the Agora. These users are long-time Trusted Counselors who have been deeply involved in the life of the forum—they’ve seen it all, contributed consistently, and helped shape the community’s identity.
Engaged Chancellors are role models. Through their words and actions, they set the standard for respectful, thoughtful, and constructive participation. If someone needs help, guidance, or perspective, these are the people others naturally turn to.
